Antisocial PD is a calculated absence of conscience and empathy, coupled with a cold attraction to violence, manipulation, and lies. Antisocial personality disorder has primary genetic causes, involving abnormal structure and functioning of brain regions responsible for emotions and their regulation. Psychopaths are cruel, impulsive, and biologically incapable of experiencing certain forms of fear and pain, as well as empathy, guilt, or conscience. They are chronically bored, which drives them toward deception, manipulation, crime, and power — sources of the strongest and longest-lasting emotions.
