Narcissistic PD is a sincere belief in one’s own exceptional and grandiose greatness, combined with exploitation of all other “inferior” people. NPD is a mask of grandiosity covering a core sense of worthlessness. The narcissist does not know their true self and, from childhood, has been forced to meet others’ expectations. Other people are needed as mirrors of praise to soothe and maintain the “grandiose façade” the narcissist has shamefully constructed around themselves.
